The Waalhaven Group consists of several companies and joint-ventures that all have their own specialisation when it comes to handling and transport containers and other intermodal units.

Together they can offer you the most complete, advanced and economical services in the field of storage, transhipment, repair and maintenance of empty and full containers, as well as in transport by barge, rail and trucking of both full and empty containers, trailers and swapbodies.

FULL CONTAINERS

Barge Center Waalhaven and Waalhaven Botlek Terminal are the barge and shortsea terminals for full containers. Total capacity of both terminals is approximately 400.000 Teu per year.

EMPTY CONTAINERS

United Waalhaven Terminals is a joint-venture between the Waalhaven Group and ECB Group in Rotterdam. Total starage capacity is appr. 35.000 Teu which makes UWT the largest empty depot in the Rotterdam area.

LOGISTIC SERVICES

Customs services are offered via Waalhaven Douane Service. The company has offices in Rotterdam, Antwerp and Born (Limburg). WDS is specialized in customs documentation, customs clearances and fiscal representation.

In Born, Limburg the first trimodal terminal has been established with Barge & Rail Terminal Born. Barge Terminal Born and Rail Terminal Born are situated in the south of the Netherlands from where containers are transported to Rotterdam and Antwerp by barge and rail. Intermodal transport by rail can be realised from Born to a range of destinations throughout Europe.

Other barge services are the Waalhaven Cool Barge for reefers and Waalhaven Intermodal Logistics. These services are established as alternatives for short distance trucking within the Rotterdam area.

Eswaco is a partnership with Estron and Companero. The company is specialized in supplying vessels with parts, food and other products by barge. Customers of Eswaco are the main agencies, carriers and supplying companies in the Rotterdam area.
